From humble beginnings

Our story begins long before Saltspring Soapworks did: Four generations ago with a grandmother and a farm. Using beef tallow and ash, she handcrafted soap—a legacy that was handed down to her granddaughter and our founder, Linda Quiring. The simplicity of our beginnings remains the essence of our remedies today.

Our small-batch products are handmade in Canada, with a focus on effective botanicals rather than marketing hype. We keep routines simple (no 10-step complexity), use high-quality ingredients at accessible prices, and maintain full transparency. It’s skincare that feels authentic and effective without unnecessary fillers.

Many customers notice skin feeling cleaner, softer, and more balanced within days to a week. Visible improvements in hydration, texture, and radiance often appear with consistent 2–4 weeks of use. Skin renewal is gradual—patience and consistency yield the best results.

Our Face care scents are subtle and natural—derived from essential oils and botanicals (lavender, rosehip, mandarin, etc.). They are pleasant and light, not overpowering, so they layer well under makeup or with your favorite perfume.

Gentle yet effective cleansing without stripping natural oils; balancing and clarifying with herbal toners; deep hydration and barrier support from butters, oils, and hyaluronic acid where used; antioxidant and renewal support from rosehip and other botanicals. The result is healthier-looking, balanced, glowing skin with a simple routine.

Our Skincare collection includes: Mandarin Rosehip Face Cleanser (gentle daily cleanse), Lavender Sage Toner (balance and refresh), Avocado Rosehip Day Cream (light daytime moisture + protection), Rosehip Lavender Night Cream (richer overnight repair), and Meadowfoam Rosehip Renewing Serum (concentrated treatment). Use morning: cleanse → tone → serum (optional) → day cream. Evening: cleanse → tone →serum → night cream.
